Lorry crashes into Police checkpoint in Anambra killing 2 policemen and a civilian
killed when a tipper driver allegedly lost control of
his lorry as a result of brake failure and crashed
into a police checkpoint at New Tarzan Junction,
along Enugu/Onitsha Expressway in Anambra
State
Divisional Police Officer at Ogidi, Hassan Musa,
confirmed to newsmen yesterday that a
policeman lost his life due to the accident, while
two others were hospitalized, adding that the
driver has been arrested.
According to reports, the driver lost control as he
descended the hill towards the police
checkpoint, and crashed into another lorry
carrying a container that fell on the policemen.
Some eye-witnesses at the scene of the incident
blamed the tipper driver for reckless driving,
while others blamed the policemen for always
creating artificial traffic jam along the road in a
bid to extort money from commercial motorists.
They said the roadblock was created after the
recent protests by members of the Indigenous
People of Biafra, IPOB and the police have
since turned that checkpoint into an extortion
point.

Mum arrested after young boy found chained to bed and left starving
shackled to a bed and severely malnourished.
The 11-year-old had a three metre long chain
clamped to his right ankle when he was found by
police in his bedroom.
After an anonymous complaint, police and social
workers stormed the home and found the poorly
boy in a bad state.
They immediately arrested the boy's mother who,
according to local media reports, had tied the boy
up because of his naughty behaviour.
She claimed she has no option but to restrain him
with the metal shackle and chain.
The rescue took place in the city of Magangue in
northern Colombia.
Police colonel Victor Hugo Gomez Arias, who was
responsible for the rescue operation, said:
"Officers from the Teen and Children
Protection Group went to the scene and
found a barefoot boy tied by his ankle inside
the household."The policemen took him to a
local health centre so that he can have access
to medical care.
"Afterwards he was left under the protection
of the municipal family authority."
The mother, whose name has not been made
public, remains in police custody.

A YOUNG MAN HAS BEEN DECLEARD WANTED AFTER KILLING HIS OWN FATHER:
The sleepy community of Imilike-Agu in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State was thrown into confusion and mourning when a young man, Anselm Ugwuoke, butchered his own father, Paulinus Ugwuoke, 60, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2015.
The murderer who is said to be on the run after he committed the dastardly act, had gotten into an argument with his father and some of his friends at about 10pm on the fateful day, and in the heat of the argument, he reportedly struck his father with a machete.
The father reportedly fell to the ground and became unconscious, and before he could be rushed to to a hospital, he had given up the ghost.
After noticing that he had killed his father, Anselm took to his heels, in company with his friends and has yet to be seen.
His elder brother, Sunday Ugwuoke, expressing shock and sadness at the tragic incident, urged the police and other security agencies to ensure that Anselm was brought to book.
"I am still in a state of shock over what has happened but I know we will still get Anselm," Sunday said.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the development, stating that the police were on the culprit's trail.
He added that the victim's remains had been deposited in a mortuary, adding that an autopsy was to be conducted on the corpse.

SSANU Directs Members To Embark On Indefinite Strike Today Being Dec. 24
Universities (SSANU), has directed its
members to embark on indefinite strike
from December 24, following the Federal
Government's directive to Vice-Chancellors
of universities to remove the names of
staff of their secondary schools from their
pay-roll.
The National Executive Council of SSANU
took the decision after its meeting in
Abuja.
Addressing journalists on the outcome of
its meeting, the National President of
SSANU, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, said
the action of the government to retrench
over 2,000 staff was contrary to the
Federal Government and SSANU
agreement of 2009.
Ugwoke said that SSANU had written the
Minister of Education, Malam Adamu
Adamu, urging him to order the
immediate withdrawal of all letters from
the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages
Commission, National Universities
Commission and the Federal Ministry of
Education directing Vice-Chancellors to
remove personnel of the University Staff
Primary Schools from the pay-roll.

He said no one can compare the retired general to his colleagues who have retired and yet get involved in dirty politics around the Southwest.
He accused President Buhari of taken such step only to appease the Boko Haram sects, as he lamented that it was unfortunate seeing President Buhari now diplomatically granting amnesty to his people, at the expense of the nation's economy.
Godwin said: "The type of change the All Progressive Congress (APC) brought to Nigerians was least envisaged.
"That the President could have even stoop so low to have relocated the Military Headquarters to the war front was a terrible change on its arrival."
He said General Ibrahim Babangida must have realised some weaknesses in the leadership of General Muhammadu Buhari as a Military Head of States before he decided to overthrow him in August 27, 1985 in a successful coup.
"No one needs further explanations as to why Buhari was budgeted such huge amount to be wasted in a danger zone like Northeast. It is a crazy economic decision.
"How could a sound retired warlord who had the experience of what the war front always look like decided to expend billions of naira in such an environ? What for, at this challenging period?
"Was that suppose to be part of the changes we were promised as Nigerian youths? The priority to the N5,000 each earlier promised the unemployed graduates?
"President Buhari should realise what will be at stake if such project goes off in a glint of an eye as a result of insurgency," Godwin admonished.
The host, who later enjoined the group to be good ambassadors of the country, told his guests to live up to the meaning of their name, The Coalition of Nigeria Future Leaders.
"I feel honoured with your choice in me as the grand patron to your group. It's good having people like you around with this type of positive mindset. Definitely Nigeria shall be great again. Please always see this country as yours and her unity as a must protected. You are the future leaders as you said, and I want you to protect that which you aspire to lead," IBB advised his guests with his usual gentle smile.
Okeke female hostel at UNN razed by fire
Nsukka, UNN, was gutted by fire last night.
According to an eye-witness, the fire started as a
result of a spark from the wire when the school
generator supplied power to the hostel. This is the
worst fire incident in the university as neither the
Dean of student affairs, the director of works
department nor the Chairman of Servicom who
came around was able to save the situation. After
the cut is how a student narrated what
happened...
Most painful is that men of the fire service
who came around were incapacitated as they
had no water. Even the director of works
could not do anything. Lack of water in both
the hostel and the neighbouring outing ones
made even students who came to rescue the
situation handicapped. Finally, men of the fire
service returned after the whole of 300 series
which is a total of 34 rooms had perished,
thereby rendering 136 or more students
homeless and useless as all their documents,
property, and even possibly, compulsory
laptops for which some are yet to pay up,
have all gone up in ashes. A student who is an
honourable member of the House of
Representatives said she has written so many
times about the connections to the
appropriate quarters without any response.
There is no functional fire service in the whole
University town of Nsukka. The wild fire which
is akin to what I watch in American horror
movies could have been controlled if the
works department of the school is well
equipped. I would want to believe that the
university administration will adequately
compensate the victims; some of who are
already enjoying their xmas holiday. In just a
year, 3 female hostels in UNN had had fire
accident. First it was Okpara hostel, then Aja-
Nwachukwu and now Okeke.

Woman Vomits Padlock, Delivers Live Turtle In Lagos During Deliverance - Report. (must read)

It sounds like tale by moonlight but it is indeed a verifiable fact that a woman was delivered of a live turtle and a padlock in the presence of thousands of worshippers during a church service in a Lagos church.
Time was 5am on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 during the Rhema water programme organised by the Elijah Faith Assembly Church, Ajao Estate, Lagos. The incident took many, including the church's Overseer, Prophet Chinonso Favour Aniebo by surprise. Many took to their heels as a result
of fear and the irritation of seeing a pool of blood that gushed out of the private part of the woman, Mrs Cassandra Amaka Obi, before the turtle eventually came out.
After the incident, the 22-year-old Cassandra from Ihiala, in Anambra State, lay flat on the floor of the church, while deliverance prayers were going on to resuscitate her, after some hours of going into coma. The story of Cassandra, who is nursing a six-month-old baby girl, who she took to the church that fateful day, will arouse fears and probably sympathy in any human.
She told Saturday Sun that her problems started when she was a little girl under her parents in their Umuabanike village, Ihiala. According to her, her father, who is a strong and known native doctor in the area, initiated her into the occult through his shrine when she was seven years old and started using her to execute his job.
"When I was nine, my father invoked both the key and the turtle in my body, so that I will be strong spiritually to assist him in his shrine. That time, this turtle was in his barn and was smaller. I really knew the time he did the whole thing, but as a child, I did not know the implication. Then, among all the children my father has, I was the closest to him, so he decided to use me in his shrine. Sometimes, after preparing charms, he would send me to go and throw them into the river or anywhere he wanted me to send it to. And, because he used to give me some money, I was happy working with him", she stated.
Cassandra said she continued working with her father in the shrine until she clocked the age of 17 when someone came to ask for her hand in marriage, but her father bluntly refused her getting married.
Her words: "At 17, I thought I had served my father well and should, therefore, marry, but surprisingly, my father objected to that, insisting that I should not get married at all, instead, I should stay at home and have as many children as I liked, in order to assist him in his job. But, I refused. After much pressure, he managed to allow me get married. My husband fulfilled all the marriage rites and on the day of our wedding, my father did not come to the church, he only appeared when we wanted to take photographs and he joined us. Could you believe that immediately we finished taking a photograph with my father, I did not get myself again, I lost my memory, pulled my wedding ring and threw it to my husband and told him that the marriage was over. I ran away and they caught me. In fact, our guests and everyone present were surprised. Even when they managed to take me to my father's house, I wanted to jump the fence. It was when my father brought kola nuts and prayed that I regained my senses and followed my husband that I was able to calm down."
That could be said to be the beginning of Cassandra's marital problems. After about six years of their marriage, she could not conceive probably due to the padlock, turtle and other dangerous concoctions her father put in her body. She and her husband went to so many places in search of solution, and lots of money, energy and time were wasted, but all were fruitless.
Meanwhile, as these were going on, Cassandra did not reveal to her husband what was wrong with her. "Though, I knew that all the things inside my body were the cause of the problem we were having in our home, I did not want to tell my husband because he will be scared and may decide not to continue with the marriage."
While the search for solution to their problem continued, their neighbour introduced them to the Elijah Faith Assembly Church in 2013 where they received prayers and deliverance. Shortly after, she conceived and had her first baby girl.
"The problem that brought us to Elijah Faith Assembly in August 2013 was six years of childless marriage. As I came out in the church that first day to give offering, the prophet sighted me, and told me to stop making up. Also, when we went for service the next Sunday, the prophet still told me that we came to the church because of fruit of the womb. In fact, I did not take him seriously. When we got home, I thought it was due to the same headtie I put on that made the prophet to recognize me as such. So, I decided to change the headtie. Yet, when we went to service another time, he prophesied that my problem started from my family, and that my father was responsible for my problems. He, therefore, asked me to see him after. But, while coming, I should buy whatever I knew my father would like and bring them to him. So, I bought wrapper and drink, and the prophet anointed them and directed me to send the gifts to my father in the village and return to Lagos next day."
Cassandra explained that when she took the gifts to her father, he prayed for her to give birth to as many children as she likes. "After that, I returned to Lagos and became pregnant in September and delivered my first child. Meanwhile, the objects were still inside my body. But, it was during the Rhema water programme of the church that I vomited the padlock, after delivering my first child. Then, I delivered the turtle, six months after delivering my second child during the church's Rhema water programme."
She said the turtle delivery miracle started when her husband travelled home recently and visited her father, and he was given some coconuts by her father's maid. "Although, when my husband was travelling, I warned him not to visit my father because I understand him well, but he insisted. When he brought the coconut, it did not occur to me not to eat it. So, I broke one, ate and gave some to my neighbours. After eating it, I started to experience severe stomach pains. Later, my stomach began to swell like a pregnant woman. So, when I could not bear it any longer, I reported to Prophet Chinonso, he prayed for me and advised me not to worry about it. But after sometime, I started bleeding. Then, I attended a Tuesday church programme and the prophet prayed for me. Then, following day, being Wednesday, I returned to the church for the Rhema water programme. And, during deliverance prayer by Prophet Chinonso, the bleeding became more serious, as if I was in labour. Meanwhile, before the bleeding, I had contractions and those sitting close to me became curious and were asking whether I was pregnant. But I told them that I was not pregnant, rather I am nursing a six-month-old baby."
Cassandra stated that when the bleeding was on, the prophet was busy praying from the altear. So, he sent the Assistant Pastor, Chukwuma Aniebo to give her Rhema water to drink, while some was poured on her body. "After drinking the water, the turtle rushed out with blood from my vagina and I became relieved immediately."
She thanked God for the miracle that caused a stir in the church. "I do not know how to explain this because I have been in bondage. But now I am free, therefore, I promise to use everything I have to serve God."
Her husband, Mr Onyeka Obi also narrated his ordeal throughout their eight years of marriage. According to him, "Since the time I married her, it has been from one problem to the other. Sometimes, she would tell me that she made love with cat in her dream. And anytime I made love to her, my business would suffer a misfortune. In fact, it had been spiritual attacks all along and all the places we went for solution and spent huge amount of money, did not yield any positive result until we were introduced to Elijah Faith Assembly Church. And thank God, all the problems that have been taking us from one place to the other are now over. We have two kids, and all the spiritual attacks have stopped. Meanwhile, I went through hell, trying to find solution to her problems."
Prophet Chinonso, who was busy at the altar conducting the deliverance service when the miracle took place at the nursing mother's section of the church, described it as one of the greatest God has performed through him. "I thank God that He proved himself in the lives of the couple who have been suffering from spiritual bondage. In fact, this miracle is hard to believe. But God did it to uplift his name. We have been praying that God should perform a miracle that would shake the world. And we are happy that He has done it."
One of the Church members, Mrs Chimezie Nwabugo who witnessed the incident explained that she was the one that pressed Cassandra's stomach before the turtle came out. And, when I did, she told me that the thing was coming out. Then, I wondered what she meant since she was not pregnant. Thereafter, she said it has come out. I did not see anything, until when we pulled her away from the pool of blood where she was lying and I saw something like a congealed blood that fell off her cloth. When I looked closely, I noticed that it was a live turtle covered with blood. Because of that, I ran away and almost everyone close to the place left in fear. In fact, that experience was a very strange one and I have not had it before. Since that time, people on the streets call me midwife that helped a woman to deliver a turtle, instead of a child, but I do not bother because God knows why it happened like that", she stated.

5 THINGS TO WORK ON BEFORE GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE
Many of us graduate from college without any change we still remain the same way we are before we entered college....now this is an experience I got on a friend kunle, I tought as much to educate you my loving readers on this
1. Spoken English:
It is so sad that majority of
Nigerian students in tertiary
institutions don't bother about
polishing their spoken and written
English. Some graduates speak
English worse than a toddler, making
one wonder what they spent 16yrs
doing in school. You hear them spew
garbage like "he come and slap me
and I come and beat him". If you
speak such English to an interviewer,
even with first class clearly written
on your CV, he will probably think
you runzed your way through school.
The use of words like yeah, goddamn,
omo, sh*t, f**k etc should be stopped
cos they don't portray you as a
decent person.....mind you
2. Mode of dressing:
Looking fly on campus was one of the
things kunle enjoyed during his
undergraduate days. It was fun cos
He had so much of the opposite sex
around to admire him including me but am not gay tho. The moment he
graduated, his orientation changed.
Not that a graduate should stop
wearing denims and sneakers, but
sagging and putting on studs with
crazy hairstyle should come to a stop
if such a person wants to fit into the
corporate world. In the corporate
world, you get to mingle with
matured or married men with enough
decency. Sagging in their midst will
make you look kiddo(small boi). Just because your
favourite musician Davido sags his
trousers doesn't mean you should do
the same. He gets paid to do that
while you could get fired for doing
the same....got it?
3. Spendthrift attitude:
The first time kunle heard someone say
his salary is 70k, he hissed and
mocked him for him mind that was
the same amount we students flex at the bar and spent
on phones just to oppress each other.
Now I've seen people earning less
than 45k even with years of
experience. What kind of person do
you think you'll turn out to be when
all you want is the latest expensive
gadgets? In the real world, no one
cares about the kind of phone you
use. Even on naija campus these
days, girls have stopped falling for a
guy because of the phone he uses, but no all phones because phone dey pass phone...
they now trip for flashy cars. So,
before you spend that huge amount
on a phone, ask yourself this
question: "is it going to improve my
standard of living?". Kunle didn't know he
could turn his smart phone to a mini
laptop with WPS, Excel etc untilI he got
employed. His phone was all about
BBM, Whatsapp and Facebook. He now
saw the full potential of the phone.
You need to cut down on your
spendings. Also, get the idea of
clubbing off your mind or it might
ruin your pockets. The money saved
from disciplining yourself can be
used to start something great. Use
your head,let your head not be used by something else
4. Laziness:
You remember how you use to
complain about the large notebooks
you have to read for exams? If you
lack a good reading culture, it is
certain you will be bereft of ideas
to contribute to a company's growth.
You are always seen reading gossip
blogs like my own....lol, where you are updated with
the lifestyle of celebrities but lack
the idea of what the top 20
questions interviewers ask. Scaling
through campus days as a lazy
person doesn't mean such is likely to
continue in the real world. Carrying
on with laziness is what leads to
prostitution, sorry to say, where a lady feels she
can use her body to fetch her daily
bread instead of her brain, or where
a guy still expects his uncle to be
the one to help him achieve his
targets even after getting him a job
through nepotism (IM). You get to wonder
why they spent 4 -7yrs developing
their brain in school. Be carefull ooo
5. Pride:
I remember when kunle was in his final
year at school, he was always happy
about what the future held for him. He always says he was going to get a job that
pays 350k immediately he graduated.
Reality slapped him in the face when
His first offer was a job paying 30k.
He had no choice but to take the offer
cos he was already tired of adding
more months to the six months he had
spent at home just sleeping. Luckily
for him, the job paved the way for
better ones cos it gave him the
needed experience recruiters want to
see on a CV. He has now realised that
350k is only feasible for those in
the oil sector and those with huge
years of experience, not a fresh
graduate who doesn't know his left from his right *i just hoped kunle dosn't read this post*.

I remember when kunle was in his final
