The immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), has spoken of how the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan facilitated the acquisition ofhitherto elusive weaponry in thedasuki2last one year and recovered many local governments that had been occupied by Boko Haram terrorists.
dasuki2Sambo, who has been a subject of media focus since his homes in Abuja and Sokoto were invaded by operatives of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) the samedasuki4week he left office on the eve of Eid -Fitri 2015, named some of the deciding acquisitions to include Alpha jets, APCs, MRAP vehicles, advanced artillery pieces, assorted arms and ammunitions, highly sophisticated surveillance drones, T72 and carried out modification of F7 supersonic jet fighters.dasuki3asuki4Dasuki told PRNigeria that “The armored tanks have comprehensive NBC protection system, just as we deployed Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles thatdasuki5we bought and could withstand improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and ambushes. The vehicles had protected our troops from the land mine threats.
dasuki3“We are glad that we also provided assorted Armoured Personnel Carriers to transport troops to the battlefield. They are armed for self-defence and to provide protection from attacks from shrapnel and small arms fire.
“All these were acquired in the last one year after years of frustration by Western powers who denied us of the equipment and sabotage our efforts to acquire same from other sources which are reasons for some delay in delivery.”
dasuki5According to him, some other arms already paid dasuki7for by the previous administration are due to be delivered soon. “It was unfortunate that some elements are frustrating the efforts as we even had to query some suppliers for delay in delivery of arms and ammunitions,” he added.
dasuki6The former NSA disclosed “we utilised some of these equipment to recover more than 22 local governments under Boko Haram terrorists and ensured that Shekau did not disrupt the 2015 election as he had threatened. Not only did we ensure that the elections were peaceful, Shekau has never spoken to threaten anyone again since then.”
Responding to critics of past administration on security issues, he said: “In attempt to rubbish individuals for whatever reasons, political or otherwise, we should be careful not to rubbish sensitive institutions and their personnel that might still be in active service.
dasuki7“It is unfortunate that some elements hide under the cover of anonymity in the media to rubbish some of the sacrifices we made. They should the take the courage to come out publicly by identifying themselves with their baseless allegations. ”dasuki6

Biafra: Ex-militants give FG 31-day ultimatum to release Kanu:

Biafra: Ex-militants give FG 31-day ultimatum to
release Kanu:
Niger Delta ex-militant leaders in support of the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB-) struggle have
given Federal Government 31-day deadline to free the
leader of the group and Director of Radio Biafra,
Nnamdi Kanu, or face the consequences.
Also, the former warlords warned security agencies
against tampering with the life of the IPOB leader,
who is detained at Kuje Prison. Spokesperson of the
concerned ex-militants, simply identified as General
Ben, warned that at the expiration of the ultimatum,
they would resume massive abduction of expatriates
as a first step.
The spokesperson declared that Federal Government
should not underrate the activities of the militants in
the Niger Delta, no matter the number of soldiers
deployed against them.
He fumed: "The ex-militant leaders in Ebeocha IPOB
are warning the Federal Government and are giving
them 31 days to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of
IPOB and Director of Radio Biafra.
"We are giving Federal Government deadline; if they
fail to release him, the country would be vandalised.
He is fighting a just cause. Nothing should happen to
him and Federal Government should not forget what
we can do," he threatened.
They accused the Federal Government of
marginalising a section of the country, pointing out
that the approach of the Presidency on issues
bordering on the entire geo-political zones were
treated unjustly and with bias.
Speaking on the recent invasion of the homes of their
colleagues by security operatives, General Ben said
the action was meant to intimidate them. "Federal
Government wants to use that way to harm us. But
we are warning that they (FG) should not forget our
capabilities. They think we can be intimidated by that
approach. No way!
"Federal Government should know that the detention
of Nnamdi Kanu and raid of the residences of our
colleagues are enough reasons to collapse the
society."

PDP abandons olisah metuh; says "we wount provide surties for metuh"

he national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has said that it will not provide sureties for its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh.

This was made known by PDP's Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo who said since Metuh was being prosecuted for offences that have nothing to do with it, its embattled spokesperson should look for those who would stand as sureties for him.

Metuh is facing charges for allegedly collecting N400m from Dasuki, an offence the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission described as money laundering.

Though Metuh said he actually collected the money, he said it was for a job he did for former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Metuh has, however, remained silent on the type of job he allegedly did for the former President.

He is also being prosecuted by the EFCC for allegedly tearing the statement he made to the commission while under interrogation.

Jalo said:
"Metuh didn't represent the party in the alleged crimes he's being prosecuted. The party didn't benefit from the alleged crime. So, he is going to look for sureties himself.

We won't be involved. He would carry his own cross alone, without the party being involved."The PDP spokesperson has denied both offences, and he is currently being remanded in Kuje Prisons, Abuja, by two different courts pending the time he would meet the bail conditions.

There were anxieties on how he would meet the conditions in order to ease his release from the prisons.

The National Legal Adviser of the party, Mr. Victor Kwon, said friends and associates Metuh were "doing everything possible to get the sureties" as demanded by the courts.

Man removes neighbours 7-months pregnancy with kitchens knife

A mother of two, Mrs. Oyinyechi Chinaka, is recuperating after she was reportedly stabbed several times by her neighbour (names withheld) in Mushin area of Lagos.
Mrs Chinaka was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, but she lost her seven months pregnancy.

The victim's agony began after she allegedly caught the neighbour stealing money from her purse and, not wanting the woman to expose him at number 11, Anjorin Street, Mushin, Lagos, the suspect was said to have stabbed Mrs. Chinaka with a kitchen knife severally on her stomach ,arm and neck and left her to bleed to death .
The mother of two could have died but for the timely intervention of neighbours who went looking for her and called for help after they saw her lying in her room in a pool of blood.

While neighbours were at a loss about what happened to her, the assailant went about as if nothing happened until he was found out by his elder brother and he confessed to stabbing Mrs. Chinaka .
The victim, who spoke to newsmen on her hospital bed, narrated, " I was at home that fateful day when my children came to me in the kitchen where I was cooking to say electricity had been restored, and that I should come to the living room to play a cartoon video, called Power Ranger, for them. I left what I was doing and went to operate the television for them. But to my astonishment, I saw the neighbour in my room. He was going through my purse to steal money. I caught him red handed. He was shocked.

I said, ' So, you are the one stealing all the money that has been missing in this compound'. I was shocked because I trusted him and we had never quarrelled before. I usually left my children with him and he entered my house the way he liked, but for him to be stealing was shocking to me. As I was still talking to him, he ran out of the room and before I knew what was happening, he came back with a kitchen knife and told me that he will stab me with it. I thought he was joking but to my shock, he moved close and, as I attempted to escape, he held me and started stabbing me with the knife . He stabbed me until I lost consciousness. I did not know what happened next. I only found myself in hospital and, after surgery, I was revived. My husband told me that I was stabbed and would have died but for God's mercy. I could not feel my baby anymore. I was seven months pregnant but my baby was not kicking".
Mr. Henry , Mrs Chinaka's brother- in-law, explained the trouble the family went through to get medical help for her.

" When we heard that she was stabbed, the family rallied round and rushed her to LUTH. Doctors told us that she had to use the only ICU machine but a lot of people were on queue to use it. We ran helter skelter to look for money to deposit for her treatment. We had to deposit N500,000 and we have spent more than a million naira on her treatment but nobody knew who stabbed her and she was on life support machine for months . Unknown to us, the assailant's elder brother had reported him to the police at the Olosan Police Station and the police had charged him to court for attempted murder without carrying out thorough investigation nor did they visit the woman in the hospital" , Henry said. " We have been prevailing on the police to include the case of murder in the charge against the assailant because the woman lost her seven months old pregnancy due to the stabbing. The baby is in the mortuary but the DPO of the Olosan Police Station and the IPO are not ready to cooperate with us as they went on to charge the boy to court without hearing from the family of the victim. We are appealing to the police to revisit the case and amend the charge to include murder. We want justice to be done."

A human rights activist, Mr. Ishola Agbodemu, urged the police to get justice for the victim, especially in the light of the lost pregnancy.
"If she had not been stabbed and made to go through such a terrible experience, she would have given birth to a child by now. The child's murder should not be overlooked by the police", Agbodemu said.
In his statement to the police, the suspect said he was pushed by an evil spirit to stab Mrs. Chinaka.

"I went to her house to steal money. She caught me but a spirit told me to stab her, so I went to the kitchen and took the knife and stabbed her with it. I stabbed her because I did not want her to reveal to other neighbours that I am a thief. I fled the house when I saw blood gushing out. It was my brother who exposed me. He saw a cut wound on my hand and he questioned me where I got it. I had to confess to him that I used knife to stab Mrs Chinaka. My elder brother took me to the Olosan police station and I was arrested".

BREAKING NEWS:- Court Sends Nnamdi Kanu To Kuje Prison For Treason.

….Nnamdi's lawyer begged the court to send the blamed individual to jail so that his family could have admittance to him.

John Tsoho, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, has ordered that Nnamdi Kanu be remanded in Kuje prison pending his trial for treason.

Tsoho, the judge, gave the order after listening to Mohammed Diri, counsel to the Department of State Services (DSS), and Chuks Muoma (SAN), counsel to Kanu.

Muoma had argued that the accused person be remanded in prison custody away from the cell of the DSS.

He said that his client had been kept incommunicado in the custody of the DSS for three months.

He therefore asked the court to send the accused person to prison so that his family could have access to him.

Diri, however, prayed the court to keep Kanu in the custody of the DSS for security reasons. But the judge ruled that the defendant be kept in the custody of the Nigeria Prison Service, Kuje.

On December 23, 2015, he had refused to take his plea before Ahmed Mohammed, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, citing lack of confidence in the court.

This was after Adeniyi Ademola, another justice of the federal high court, Abuja, ordered the DSS to release him unconditionally, and after a chief magistrate court discharged and acquitted of charges of criminal intimidation and ownership of unlawful society.

When Should You Give Your Partner a Second Chance?

When Should You Give Your Partner a Second
Chance?

A partner who has professed and pledged undying
love for you in public, private, social media, among
friends and family(even before his ancestors if
possible) is suddenly caught neck deep in an affair –
be it emotional, physical or secret affair.
Take for example, a man who beats his wife for
whatever reason, begs for a second chance. He does
everything possible to win her back until one day, the
devil in him rears it's ugly head again, and he beats
her, yet again. This time he compensates by changing
her car. She hangs on, because she loves him and he
doesn't beat her all the time.
A guy begs his girlfriend for forgiveness after
cheating and getting caught. He cries bitterly, begs
like his life depends on it. Girl sees genuineness,
forgives and they move on. Few weeks later, guy is
back to his vomit.
How do we explain these strange human tendencies?
Do we say it's a weakness that's beyond them, or it
isn't ordinary, or they just want to eat their cake and
have it? Or they don't want to commit to one partner?
When is it right to give another chance? Or is it better
to do away with such people after a first offence? I'll
be waiting to read insightful and honest opinions in
the comment box. And if you've got such an
experience,

Patrick Obahiagbon Speaks About Dasukigate.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon (aka Igodomigodo) has finally revealed his thoughts about the trial of former National Security AdviserPatrick Obahiagbon Speaks About Dasukigate.
, Dasuki.

Here's what he shared on his own Facebook page.

"Whereas the Dasuki menopause has diaphanously made the point that the Jonathan administration elevated the dum vivimus, vivamus nectar to a nauseating and asphyxiating elastoplast, it can bear reiteration that beyond the current ballyhoo baying for a condign comeuppance, the challenge is how to ensure that each public officer is henceforth subjected to the immolatory trajectory of dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. But can we break away from the penelopic circle of flagellative rigor mortis?"

In my postmodern ideolectical reconfiguration, syntax simplicitas, I would paraphrase pro-emphasio :

While the Dystopia called the 'Dasuki Gate' has ipsis factis, as a very potent locus classicus, crystallized the argument that the hedonistic administration of GEJ, in the retrospect of any bounded rationality, did actually apotheosize the corruption of stomach infrastructure to it's apogee ad-origo, given the wide spread of it's regrettable benevolence et beneficiaries...but far beyond our zest qua best drive towards blocking the corruption holes cum retrieving the stolen funds is the greater exigency of expanding our proclivity to input the necessary pragmatic laws, policies, modus vivendi cum operandi that will lead to both an ideological cum behavioral resurgimento on the part of our public servants to ultimately sacrifice corruption and it's tendencies cum trappings on the golden altar of selfless national service cum discipline...but whether we as Nigerians are truly and conscientiously willing to submerge our selves in the clinical aqua of self abnegation, extricate ourselves from the arms of all dystopic morpheus, and once and for all break away from this vicious circle of indemic corruption, remains to be seen....

update !!!

UPDATE : "We thank the Bring Back Our Girls Movement (BBOG) for a good event. But that is not to say that all of the accounts of the meeting on Twitter are accurate.

President Buhari could not have stormed out of his meeting with the Chibok parents, stakeholders and the BBOG. He was called to speak at a meeting he did not start. He did his part and left so that the meeting would continue. It is simple meeting procedure. He had to leave without being disruptive. That is what happened. The ministers did not even escort him. They stayed back to conclude the meeting.

I thought that the President should be praised for ending his meeting with a foreign leader to come, and for the courtesy and respect he showed to the parents and the BBOG, which is undoubtedly Africa's best known social action movement.

We asked cameras out for two reasons. Sensitive security information may be disclosed. Two, privacy is not unusual with leaders around the world when they meet families in grief. We didn't want anyone to get the sense that the President was exploiting their images in a photo op." -Garba Shehu, Presidential Spokesman - Peterson ~

Shi’ites ask the FG to tell Nigerians the whereabout of El-Zakzaky

Three weeks after his arrest, members of the
Islamic sect, Shi'ites, yesterday, asked the Federal
Government to tell Nigerians the whereabout of
their cleric, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his
wife.
The President of the Islamic Movement Media
Forum (IMMF), Ibrahim Musa in a statement said:
The condition and whereabouts of the Islamic
Movement's leader Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky
as well as that of his wife, are still unknown,
three weeks after their arrest and detention
by the security operatives.
"The Islamic Movement as well as the general
public are now seriously anxious. "Where is
Sheikh Zakzaky and why has he been denied
his constitutional rights to an attorney, bail
and visitation?
"If the government is truly interested in
finding a peaceful way out of this crisis the
army initiated and executed, as the
government wants the public to believe, it
should by now have allowed an unimpeded
access to Sheikh Zakzaky.
"First and foremost, his first family members
and leading brothers of the Islamic
Movement and his doctor should have met
him by now, since he was shot by the soldiers
when they attacked his residence.
"We are highly agitated by this seeming
needless incommunicado the Sheikh has been
placed in.
"The Federal Government should tell the
public where Sheikh Zakzaky is, because
rumours of various degrees are flying about
his health.
"We believe it is only when the Sheikh's health
condition is made public by the relevant
authorities that the tension brewing among
the populace will be doused."

Kwara teachers begin indefinite strike over non- payment of salaries

Teachers in public primary and Junior Secondary
Schools (JSS) in Kwara state yesterday went on
strike despite pleas from the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The teachers started the indefinite strike action
yesterday over unpaid three months salaries.
Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) classes went on as
usual because the state government did not owe
SSS teachers.
Speaking with journalists, the state Chairman of
the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Alhaji
Abubakar Musa, said the strike hd to take place
due to non payment of October, November and
December 2015 salary of the affected teachers.
He said:
"There is no way the hungry teachers could
deliver effectively, it is better for teachers to
stay at home until the Government is capable
of paying them." he said.
The Kwara state chapter of the All Progressives
Congress, APC, has appealed to the striking
teachers to suspend the strike.
In a release by its Publicity secretary, Alhaji
Sulyman Buhari, said:
"As a party, we wish to state that we feel the
concerns and share in the pains of primary
school teachers in Kwara State. Quite
unfortunate, this issue is chiefly caused by the
dwindling allocation from the federation
account.
"Therefore, it is not about non-payment of
teachers' salaries but non-availability of funds
to pay salaries. It requires collective efforts to
address rather than strike action, if the
resources are available today, the Governor
AbdulFatah Ahmed-led Kwara State
Government will pay all teachers like it has
always done in the past five years."
